Correct specialist terms are no longer flagged, and misspelled ones get the right suggestions.
The real risk

A general spell checker works against you

The spell checker in Word and Outlook was made for everyday English. It does not know the difference between ileum and ilium, but your patients, insurers, clients and colleagues do.

Correct specialist terms are flagged as errors dozens of times a day. Each one is an interruption, and each wrong suggestion accepted in a hurry changes what your document says.

dysphagia→“dysphasia”Difficulty swallowing becomes a speech disorder.
apixaban→not recognisedNewer drug names are flagged, with no suggestion at all.
crepitus→“credits”A clinical finding turns into nonsense.
diaphoresis→“diagnosis”One click, and the note says something else entirely.

Where a wrong word costs the most

In professional writing, a spelling error is rarely just a typo. It can change the meaning, delay payment or call your work into question.

Patient records

Notes, letters and discharge summaries are read by other clinicians. A corrupted term can change the clinical meaning.

General: “thrombocytopenia” flagged, no suggestion
Spellex: recognised and spelled right

Insurance claims

A misspelled procedure name can lead to a denied claim, an audit or a resubmission that delays payment for weeks.

General: “cholecystectomy” → “cholesterol”
Spellex: correct the first time

Medication names

The most dangerous errors of all: a wrong drug name sent to a pharmacy or a specialist can affect patient safety.

General: newer drug names unknown
Spellex: thousands of brand and generic names

Legal documents

Contracts, filings and letters are read closely. A misspelled term looks careless to a client, a colleague or a court.

Research and lab reports

Scientific names, compounds and methods must be exact. Reviewers notice, and so do readers.

Veterinary records

Species, conditions and drugs spelled correctly in records, referrals and letters to owners.

Nothing new to learn

Spellex works inside the proofing tools shared by every Microsoft Office app (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and more) and WordPerfect's spell checker.

The spell check you know

Check a document the way you always do. Spellex adds its dictionaries to the check, so your field's terms are recognised and suggested.

Spell as you type

Red underlines appear only for real mistakes, not for correct specialist words.

Your region's spelling

American, British, Canadian and Australian English are all included.

What you gain

Better accuracy. Faster writing. Lower risk.

Fewer interruptions

Correct terms stop being flagged, so you stop dismissing false alarms and write at full speed.

Safer medication records

Drug names spelled right in every note, letter and summary, protecting patients and staff alike.

Fewer rejected claims

Correct procedure and diagnosis terms the first time mean faster payment and less rework.

Credibility in every document

Clean, correct writing reflects your expertise to patients, clients, courts and reviewers.

Better protection in reviews

An accurate record is your best evidence in audits, peer reviews and disputes.

Your documents stay private

Spellex works inside Office on your computer. Your documents are not sent anywhere.
